You are about to visit a Protected Natural Area, which has been part of the Biosphere Reserve of Fuerteventura since 2009.
Its specific biological and landscape features, its ethnographic elements, and the Roman archaeological settlement makes it an environmental treasure well worth looking after.
Because of the fragility of its resources, and in order to preserve this area and make it compatible with public use, the Master Use and Management Plan of 2006 has established a limit of 200 concurrent visitors. In order to control this visiting limit, an authorisation is required to access the islet. This authorisation is free, personal and non-transferable, and totally independent from any means of transport used to get to the Natural Park.
We thank all citizens for their collaboration in the conservation and preservation of this islet for future generations.
The public use of this area must be compatible with preserving the resources available, as well as with its conservation. Therefore, you are hereby reminded that:
Waste such as cigarette ends take 10 years or more to decompose.
Thank you for your collaboration
To visit this area, do not forget to bring water, food, a cap, sun screen, a jacket and comfortable walking shoes.
You will only be allowed on the islet for the time slot that figures on your authorisation.
The future of the islet also depends on our action.
Thank you for helping us preserve this singular area.
